Both seek to replenish food and supplies needed to carry them through another siege by the nuclear fallout. The survivors repel many assaults and attacks until they are forced to resume shelter inside the Mountain when a belt of radiation returns. Inside the Mountain, they prepare to battle for their survival once the radiation outside subsidies and the attacks resume.
