The Secret Genesis of Area 51 was a favorite Father’s Day gift at the Costco store book signing by TD Barnes. Barnes reported that many of those purchased were for former or present workers at Area 51. Only now and after recent declassifications are it known that the CIA formed and ran Area 51 from 1955 to 1979 when the Air Force took over. While the original printing of The Angels contained a treasure trove of personal accounts of those who built and flew the CIA’s U-2 reconnaissance plane at Area 51, the reprint includes much more that families of those involved have subsequently contributed to the author.
